| Pachelbel Canon arrangements | |

Duration: c. 4' Pachelbel composed his Canon and Gigue in D Major scored for 3 Violins and Continuo, which is a bass-and-chord symbols accompaniment. The term "canon" means all three violinists played the identical music starting at different times, like a round. Pachelbel's Canon is also a chaconne, meaning it is built over a repeating chord progression. Many simplified arrangements only provide parts of the violin melody over the repeating chord accompaniment. All of my arrangements remain easy to play, and are still canons because the piano plays the delayed repeat answering the soloist - still easy to play, and still sounding like busy Baroque counterpoint! In order to keep these arrangements at an intermediate level, each arrangement is presented in whatever key is easiest for the soloist. These arrangements are often played at weddings and parties by professionals, as well as being played by young musicians.
